Pro-Ject CD Box DS2 - CD Player & DAC
Pro-Ject Audio Systems is expanding its Box Design DS2 Line series with an alternative model to the CD Box DS2T CD transport.
The new CD Box DS2 is not only a premium audio CD player but also a versatile Hi-Res DAC that can be also used with other external digital sources. Built around the Blue Tiger CD-80 servo system it has a slot-loading mechanism and was specifically optimized for 1:1 playback of the Red Book CDDA standard. It employs an AK4490 DAC chip, which is used by many renowned companies because of its outstanding sound and performance.
The CD Box DS2 features with four digital inputs, one coaxial and two optical S/PDIF interfaces that can be used up to 24bit/192kHz, and a USB input that can be paired with any computer, offering high-resolution file support for PCM up to 32bit/384kHz and even DSD256. It has a fixed line-level RCA output and two digital (optical and coaxial) outputs.
For added personalization, it also offers five digital filters for PCM files and two for DSD.
The Pro-Ject CD Box DS2 features a high-quality full aluminum cabinet and is available in silver or black with optional retro-styled wooden side panels (walnut and eucalyptus).
