Vertere Mystic Moving Coil Cartridge
Best known as a specialist manufacturer of high-end turntables, tonearms, phono preamps and cables, British brand Vertere Acoustics recently extended its product range with the Mystic moving-coil phono cartridge.
The Mystic's solid, machined aluminum alloy body, with an attractive sapphire blue anodized finish, is mass-tuned to the electromagnetic generator for optimum support and control of unwanted mechanical vibrations.
The threaded holes in the cartridge body accept the supplied stainless steel thumbscrews, facilitating a correct attachment to the headshell. Three contact points machined into the top of the body provide the exact mechanical coupling required. Also, an alignment ridge on the front top assists with mounting to any Vertere tonearm.
Its aluminum telescopic tube cantilever features a bonded through micro Elliptical diamond stylus assembly, and feeds a low-mass generator that utilizes a Samarium-Cobalt magnet with an extra-light cross coil made of pure virgin copper wires.
Weighing 9.1g the cartridge has a recommended tracking weight of 2g, an output level of 0.5mV and a wide frequency response of 10Hz to 40kHz.
The Vertere Mystic will be available for $2,695 from the second week of December.
